Saint-Gobain Ceramics 12 volt model 301 and 24 volt model 401 hot surface igniters can be used intermittently or continuously. They are silent, do not generate electro-magnetic interferences and allow for a stable flame in simmer mode.
These igniters have self cleaning characteristics, are not as position sensitive as spark electrodes and, are capable of lighting burners at any gas setting. Should the flame blow out, these igniters can relight a burner instantly whether in constant mode or in a flame sensing mode.
Their voltage rating and power consumption are low enough for economical and robust system design.
